It can be daunting sifting through all the information available to get the knowledge needed to make sound decisions. Ecological Design offer a home sustainability consulting service tailored to your needs. We are able to make pragmatic recommendations that will both save you money and make your home more comfortable.
We have direct experience with the new technologies and constantly test new products that come into the market. Ecological Design is completely independent - we sell no products and receive no commissions from suppliers A consultation in Sydney typically costs $450-$550 depending on location and the size of the property.

Building efficiencyWe check the house to see if there are opportunities to improve it's ability to keep occupants at a comfortable temperature throughout the year. We can recommend inexpensive DIY measures as well as competent trades to do the more specialised jobs.

Heating and coolingBe it air or water, heating and cooling usually uses the most energy in the home. A quick audit will reveal if there are savings to be made with your existing heating and cooling devices or whether it is worth changing to a new technology. This could include heaters, airconditioning and hot water systems

Lights and appliancesThere are many electrical devices in our homes - computers, refrigerators and televisions etc. Our quick check will reveal whether any of your lights and appliances are energy hogs. Once identified, we recommend cost effective measures to significantly cut energy costs from these uses.

WaterWater is becoming more expensive, as greater demands are placed on limited supplies. We can check if relatively inexpensive changes can be made that will result in water savings, and in some cases also energy savings (if less hot water is used). Where a site is suitable, we can recommend options for rainwater harvesting or greywater reuse.
