Actual vs simulated loadsThe energy usage is the real-world completed house is likely to be different to the simulated energy usage because of occupant behaviour, thermal comfort preferences and the weather is likely to be significantly different from the standardised values used for the simulation. House energy rating is a good tool for comparing designs and specification, but should only be used with great caution to predict actual heating and cooling loads.
